We do a lot of community work, artist residencies. I give out hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of free tickets to every not-for-profit group and church that’s doing a raffle or something. I give them good tickets to live shows for them to raffle off. Every live show we do, if we have them, I’ll give 100 tickets or more to agencies to give to families and people that would be unlikely to be able to afford to come.
Jeffrey Gabel, executive director of the Majestic Theater
All in the Family
One important element of small-town theaters across the country is their devotion to being places for family entertainment. With special programming for a younger audience, these theaters can provide unique and educational experiences for children from all walks of life.
As Kathryn H. Fuller-Seeley’s book lists, some comments that applaud small-town theaters include, “It’s like visiting with family,” “They take care of the young ones,” and “There’s a sense of security dropping off the kids.”
The Majestic Theater is no different.
In the spring of 2009, the Majestic Theater partnered with artist Kevin Reese and the local Lincoln Elementary School to design and execute an artistic mobile to be hung inside the Majestic Theater’s art gallery. The mobile still hangs inside the Majestic Theater today, as a testament to the joy and creativity that independent theaters can spark in people, both young and old.
For the Kids
All throughout its history, the Majestic Theater has facilitated events for children and provided programming to encourage youth in education, the arts, culture, and the performing arts.

More than a Theater
In addition to films, shows, and performances, the Majestic is also a gorgeous venue to hold special family and personal events, from weddings and anniversaries to birthdays and retirements.
The theater is lovely…brings back memories of my childhood… the show was terrific and very funny. Altogether pleasant evening with family… I will be back.
